Vascular & Interventional Radiology

Vascular & Interventional Radiology (VIR) is a specialised field within radiology that focuses on minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat vascular (blood vessel-related) and non-vascular conditions using imaging guidance. These procedures are often performed as alternatives to traditional surgery, offering patients less invasive options with potentially shorter recovery times and fewer risks. 

Procedures offered: 

  • Peripheral and neuro interventional procedures such as angiography, angioplasty and stenting etc.
  • Endovascular intervention such as renal artery embolisation, mesenteric embolisation etc. 
  • Thrombectomy and thrombolysis
  • Biopsy and drainage
  • Treatment of aneurysms
  • Alcohol ablation of thyroid cyst
  • Ablation of thyroid nodule
