Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) Programme

Comprehensive Post-Fracture Care & Osteoporosis Prevention in Melaka

At Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre (OMSMC), our Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) is a dedicated programme that helps patients recover after a fragility fracture and reduces the risk of future fractures. The programme is designed for adults — especially those aged 50 and above — who experience fractures from low-impact falls, which may indicate osteoporosis or poor bone strength.

What is the FLS Programme?

The FLS Programme provides coordinated and long-term care for patients after a fracture. Our goal is to ensure every patient receives proper bone health assessment, treatment, and follow-up to prevent secondary fractures.

Why the FLS Programme is Important?

  • After a fragility fracture, the chance of having another fracture is significantly higher.
  • Many patients do not receive osteoporosis screening or treatment after their first fracture.
  • Early assessment and proper treatment greatly help improve mobility, strength, and quality of life.

Our FLS Programme Includes:
