Meet our Management Team



Dr. Tan Hui Ling 
Managing Director

Dr Tan Hui Ling is our Managing Director of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. A graduate from the University of Melbourne, Australia, she has completed her internship, basic specialist training and advanced specialist training in Internal Medicine in Singapore. She is awarded membership to the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom and also Masters of Medicine from National University of Singapore in 2009. Subsequently she is accredited as an Internal Medicine Specialist by Specialist Accreditation Board, Singapore, as well as National Specialist Register, Malaysia.

While pursuing her medical career as an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr Tan continues to pursue her dream and is awarded Masters in Public Health from the National University of Singapore in 2013. Dr Tan believes in the importance of patient-centred and holistic care for our patients, and champions to lead our hospital to be the leader for value-based, high quality healthcare in the region.


Mr. Gan Kong Hoe
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Gan Kong Hoe began his career in the healthcare industry in Medical Specialist Centre (renamed Ayer Keroh Medical Centre) in 1995. Thereafter in 1999, he was posted to Pantai Hospital Cheras and was appointed to become the Chief Executive Officer. In just a short span of 3 years there, he rose rapidly to become the Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh in 2002.

Mr. Gan Kong Hoe later joined Fook Kuin Medical Centre in July 2013, being the key personnel and overseeing the development of the hospital in Sandakan, Sabah. Mr. Gan later returned to Pantai Group in the year of 2015. Being a dynamic go-getter with a solid background in management in the healthcare industry, he was then again appointed to head Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh. With his exemplary leadership skills, he was also overseeing the management of Pantai Hospital Batu Pahat as well as the newly opened Gleneagles Medini in Johor.


Mr. Lee Soon Teck
Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Lee Soon Teck is the Chief Operations Officer of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre.  A graduate of Public Management from Northern University of Malaysia, Mr. Lee began his career in the healthcare industry in 1999 with Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh.  Subsequently, in 2007, he was promoted as CEO for Pantai Hospital Batu Pahat.  After 12 years with the Pantai Group, he has decided to join Rawang Specialist Hospital.  He was involved in the designing, constructing and commissioning of the Hospital.  In 2013, he has joined Mahkota Medical Centre as Director, Clinical Support Services and Facilities Management. His main work experience for the last 20 years has been mainly in healthcare, which spans the areas of commissioning, operations and strategic planning for hospitals.


Ms. Phang Moon Leng
Chief Clinical Officer

Ms. Phang Moon Leng is the Acting Director of Nursing and the Chief Clinical Officer of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Ms Phang began her career in the healthcare industry since 1991. Her wide-ranging experiences includes the administration of both medical and non-medical divisions. Academically, Ms. Phang holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and is a certified nursing graduatant. Moreover, she is also a seasoned expatriate, serving faithfully as healthcare administrator in various locations for many years. Upon her return to Malaysia, she joined Gleneagles Medini, Johor as the Senior Operations Manager, overseeing the licensing, commission, and operations of the hospital. Subsequently, she then moved to Parkway Pantai Holdings to serve as the Senior Nursing Quality Improvement Manager.




Dr. Tan Li Ping
Medical Director

Dr. Tan Li Ping is our Medical Director of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Dr. Tan obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Calgary, Canada in 2001 and went on to complete his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. In 2013, he was elected to be a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology in recognition of his work.




Ms. Tan Mei Shin
Director, Business Development

Ms Tan Mei Shin is our Business Development and Business Office Senior Manager of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Ms Tan started her career journey as a Management Associate for Mahkota Medical Centre in the year of 2008. Despite her young age, she was a stellar employee who rose quickly to the position of Manager of Business Office for the same hospital in a short period of time. During her career journey, she has been a project lead in several developments of the Centres of Excellence which includes Cardiac, Cancer, Joint Replacement, Men’s Health, Neuro and Spine, Wellness and Women and Child Centre as well as developing the oversea market.

Mr. Mark Woon Sau Choong
Senior Manager, Finance and Material Management

Mr Mark Woon Sau Choong is our Finance and Material Management Senior Manager of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Prior to this, Mr Woon was Senior Finance Manager of a private hospital which belongs to a large public listed healthcare group. Trained under the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, he has over 32 years of working experience holding various Financial and Administrative managerial positions. He has journeyed through internal and external audit firms, manufacturing sectors and the healthcare industry. 

Mr. Francis Lai
Senior Manager, Human Resources

Graduated in 1987 with a BSc (Hons) from National University of Malaysia, Francis went on to obtain his post-graduate Diploma in Education from University Malaya in 1990. He has over 20 years of proven track record in directing full spectrum of human resources functions including recruitment, compensation and benefit, talent engagement and development as well as industrial relations.

He has provided comprehensive HR consultancy for large and medium size companies which includes companies from local conglomerates and MNCs. He is known to be passionate in managing human resource related issues and collaborating with business units to drive the desired outcomes.
