Meet our Management Team





Dr. Tan Hui Ling 
Managing Director

Dr Tan Hui Ling is our Managing Director of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. A graduate from the University of Melbourne, Australia, she has completed her internship, basic specialist training and advanced specialist training in Internal Medicine in Singapore. She is awarded membership to the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom and also Masters of Medicine from National University of Singapore in 2009. Subsequently she is accredited as an Internal Medicine Specialist by Specialist Accreditation Board, Singapore, as well as National Specialist Register, Malaysia.

While pursuing her medical career as an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr Tan continues to pursue her dream and is awarded Masters in Public Health from the National University of Singapore in 2013. Dr Tan believes in the importance of patient-centred and holistic care for our patients, and champions to lead our hospital to be the leader for value-based, high quality healthcare in the region.


Mr. Gan Kong Hoe
Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Gan Kong Hoe began his career in the healthcare industry in Medical Specialist Centre (renamed Ayer Keroh Medical Centre) in 1995. Thereafter in 1999, he was posted to Pantai Hospital Cheras and was appointed to become the Chief Executive Officer. In just a short span of 3 years there, he rose rapidly to become the Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh in 2002.

Mr. Gan Kong Hoe later joined Fook Kuin Medical Centre in July 2013, being the key personnel and overseeing the development of the hospital in Sandakan, Sabah. Mr. Gan later returned to Pantai Group in the year of 2015. Being a dynamic go-getter with a solid background in management in the healthcare industry, he was then again appointed to head Pantai Hospital Ayer Keroh. With his exemplary leadership skills, he was also overseeing the management of Pantai Hospital Batu Pahat as well as the newly opened Gleneagles Medini in Johor.



Ms. Christine Lee
Chief Operating Officer

Ms Christine Lee is our Chief Operations Officer who has over 20 years of experience in healthcare industry. Her vast experience in MMC covers from heading several departments under Clinical Support Services, Hospital Support Services, key personnel in doctors’ recruitment, branding & communication, and business developments.

Ms Christine began her career in 1993 as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in Singapore General Hospital. She then joined Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) in 1994 and served MMC for the past 20 years. She first joined MMC as one of the pioneer staff to set up the laboratory  and she was appointed as the Head of Laboratory for MMC in 1996. Subsequently, she was promoted as a Senior Manager of Clinical Support Services, Director of Clinical Support Services and last position in MMC was Director of Operations.

During her service with MMC, she was also been tasked to be the person in-charge of developing the Cambodia market as a second market for MMC in 2009. In 2012, she holds the position of Director of Operations, which involves overseeing a team of managers who look into ways on enhancing the customer experience in the hospital. She is in charge of researching into sensory approaches to improving the hospital’s services, covering all aspects such as the patient’s sight, touch, sounds, smell and taste – aspects which are vital to making one’s stay in the hospital as pleasant as possible.




Dr. Tan Li Ping
Medical Director

Dr. Tan Li Ping is our Medical Director of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Dr. Tan obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Calgary, Canada in 2001 and went on to complete his training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has won multiple awards for teaching and service excellence and is a published researcher. In 2013, he was elected to be a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology in recognition of his work. Aside from general medical conditions, Dr. Tan treats diseases of the kidney and related conditions such as hypertension.



Ms. Jasmine Lau

Chief of Nursing Services

Ms Jasmine Lau is our Chief of Nursing Services of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. She has obtained her Post Basic Certificate in Critical Care Nursing Course from University of South Australia and has graduated from Monash University with a Degree in Nursing. She has an extensive experience in intensive care, having a span of 10 years of hands-on clinical experience in the specialty as well as being a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Nursing Education Department prior to moving on to management position. She was appointed as the Senior Nurse Manager of Critical Care Unit of Sunway Medical Centre in the year of 2011 and later on, the Assistant Director of Nursing in Sunway Medical Centre in 2013.

Ms Jasmine has received a Gold Medal Award in her nursing diploma and the Role Model Award in the Nursing Division of Sunway Medical Centre. During her career journey, she has been an Internal Auditor for ISO-9002 in Johor Specialist Hospital from 1998 to 2000 and also an Internal Auditor for Sunway Medical Centre. 



Pn. Sabariah Binti Haron
Deputy Chief of Nursing Services

Pn Sabariah Binti Haron is our Deputy Chief of Nursing Services of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. She is a qualified Senior State Registered Nurse since 1988. Having more than 20 years of hands-on clinical experience, she specialised and was trained as a Cardiac Nurse. She has done her Cardiac Attachment with the National University Hospital in Singapore and has received her Post Basic Certificate in Perioperative in the year of 2000.

Due to her extensive experience, she was assigned as the Head Nurse of Mahkota Medical Centre and subsequently the Manager of Operating Theatre for the same hospital. During her career span as the Manager of Operating Theatre for Mahkota Medical Centre, she has run 10 operating theatres with multiple disciplines with a record of 1000 average cases per month.




Ms. Tan Mei Shin
Senior Manager, Business Development & Business Office

Ms Tan Mei Shin is our Business Development and Business Office Senior Manager of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Ms Tan started her career journey as a Management Associate for Mahkota Medical Centre in the year of 2008. Despite her young age, she was a stellar employee who rose quickly to the position of Manager of Business Office for the same hospital in a short period of time. During her career journey, she has been a project lead in several developments of the Centres of Excellence which includes Cardiac, Cancer, Joint Replacement, Men’s Health, Neuro and Spine, Wellness and Women and Child Centre as well as developing the oversea market.


Mr. Tan Eng Ghee

Senior Manager, Finance & Material Management

Mr. Tan Eng Ghee is our Finance and Material Management Senior Manager of Oriental Melaka Straits Medical Centre. Prior to this, Mr Tan was holding various managerial positions including finance, business office and clinical support services during his attachment with two other long established private hospitals and thus, gained a broad range of healthcare experience. Previously, he also served as an audit manager in a local accounting firm. 

Mr Tan became a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants after completing his training to be a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte. He is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
